I "fell" for my sweetheart on the slopes.

Our story began in December 2008 on a skiing trip. B compiled a list of about 15 different people, and invited them all to go on a skiing trip. I (elise) was one of those people. The trip was scheduled for December 26, the day after Christmas. When B invited me on the trip (via facebook), I was super excited, but really nervous too. I had never even dreamt of skiing before. Not exactly the first impression I wanted to give- sliding face first down a snowy hill. Nonetheless, I did something adventurous (for once in my life) and went. Sitting in my car at 5:00 a.m. in an abandoned parking lot, waiting on B and everyone else, common sense started to come back to me. What am I doing?! and I feel sick, were the only two thoughts going through my head.

After a short time the car pulled up, and out hopped not fifteen people, but two. TWO! B and a friend of his. Plus his dad who drove. My stomach totally touched my toes. So much for a group outing! Now all three were going to watch me make an utter fool of myself. The drive up to the slopes was pretty awkward, I didn't know them, they didn't know me, and we didn't know what to say to each other! Once we got on the slopes things got way more exciting. I managed to move on from the bunny slope after only 2 times (i'm still very proud of this fact). No, I definitely was not a pro ( like B), but luckily I only fell face first a couple of times.

After that day of skiing, I knew I loved B. You may not believe in love at first sight, but I do. I didn't confess my feelings to B, not for 5 whole months (even then he said it first!). But I sure prayed. B and I began talking in December, then I made a bold move and asked him to take me to prom. I thought his eyes were going to fall out of his head; he was totally not expecting me to ask, apparently. He said yes :). We "officially" started dating 3 months later in May. He told me he loved me and I thought I was literally going to sprout wings, I was so thrilled. I told him that I felt the same; life has been amazing since!
